The importance and possibilities of career guidance

The aim of this diploma thesis entitled "The importance and possibilities of career guidance" was to find out and describe the position of a career adviser and the possibilities and barriers of career guidance. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts, namely: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on three main thematic units. In the first chapter, the concept of career guidance is defined, target groups, forms, diagnosis, limits, possibilities and barriers of career guidance are listed. The second chapter is devoted to a career adviser, code of ethics, competences, specializations, work activities and psychohygiene for career advisers. The third chapter is focused on education of career advisers and their further education. The methodology of the research investigation is described in the practical part. A case study was chosen as the research design. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with three career advisers. Self-awareness and its Development through Public Policy as a Factor in Choice of Upper Secondary School Programme

In recent years, the topic of people's employability on the labour market has become increasingly important in the context of its dynamic transformation due to globalisation and technological progress. The way to prepare young people in education and the adult population for these changes is the subject of career guidance worldwide. Surprisingly, this topic is currently not very resonating among the actors in the Czech Republic and is not considered as a priority of educational policy, even though it is a major focus of European educational strategies. The objective of this dissertation is to gain insight into the beliefs held by the actors in the Czech educational system regarding the topics addressed by career guidance. The dissertation uses data from the 2019 Delphi survey among the actors in education and applies a phenomenographic approach for its secondary analysis. Based on The Advocacy Coalition Framework, this thesis also aims to discover if it is possible to identify certain opinion groups among these actors. The result of this research offers a map of actors' perceptions on this issue. Vocational education in the context of career preferences during the Covid pandemia and in the previous period.

The diploma thesis on the topic of vocational education in the context of career preferences during the Covid pandemic and in the previous period deals in the first part with the specification of the concept of vocational education and then describes the development of vocational education in the Czech Republic. The current state of vocational education with opportunities in the educational path of students is mentioned here. The work is further focused on the socio-psychological concept in the choice of profession for students. The factors and actors who enter the choice of profession are listed. The empirical part of the work addresses the preferences in the choice of profession in the reflection of the Covid period. Changing preferences of students entering the labor market are identified. The diploma thesis verifies the assumptions about the change of preferences when choosing a profession and these are determined on the basis of a questionnaire method. Questionnaires were sent to students of secondary vocational schools in the Karlovy Vary region. Perceptions of students' preferences in choosing a profession were also ascertained among secondary vocational school teachers in the same region. Systemic approach and dialog as an useful support for practise of career guidance counselor

The first part renders the theoretical introduction to the problems of career guidance and the next possible educational choice. There are clarified the important terms of the work, selected parts of career progression, characteristics of development stage of pubescent with respect to the next possible educational choice at the end of the primary school. Then we get acquainted with the basic principles of methodical approach and characteristics of systemic dialog. The empiric part brings particular casuistry which illustrates searching of harmony between personality of a pupil, background for exercise of a profession, chanciness, ignorance and deficient of maturity of pupils (their parents too) for the next career progression. We try to show the importance and benefit of the systemic approach and dialog just with guidance in casuistry and discussions. It tries to show a suitable systemic approach as a theoretical and philosophical framework of career counselor in the context of the consulting situation with children and their parents. This work shows that this approach helps that the counselor does not only submit a verdict but creates a place for thinking about possibilities. Asking questions challenge the client to searching answers and active thinking about future. It becomes better...
Motivation of Students in Occupational Choices

This bachelor thesis deals with internal and external motivation of pupils at the end of compulsory school attendance at elementary school, when pupils choose secondary school or apprenticeship for their future career they want to pursue. The aim of this work was to find out what factors are involved in the decision of this pupil. The text is divided into two basic parts - theoretical, where it is pointed out those factors that influence the future steps of pupils towards their further growth the choice of profession at the same time. It is outlined here which kinds of motivation are important for pupils for their advancement, development of pupil personality for professional focus. The second practical part is focused on the specific realized research concerning of the selection of a secondary school or a secondary vocational school in primary school pupils of the 9th class of two primary schools in Prague. Best practices of career guidance in lower secondary schools

This diploma thesis focuses on career guidance in primary and mainly lower secondary schools. The goal of the thesis is to identify and describe the best practices of career guidance from the perspective of a lower secondary school career or educational counsellor, and also from the perspective of the education system. The theoretical part fulfills this goal by describing inspirational approaches to career guidance in selected European countries (Finland, England and France). Using in-depth semi-structured interviews, the research part examines and describes the work of six career guidance facilitators at four lower secondary schools and one upper secondary school, which were purposefully selected as possible examples of best practice. The outcome of the thesis is a detailed insight into the attitudes and approaches to career guidance of the selected respondents, description of 36 unique career guidance activities, and a set of both systemic and specific recommendations for improving the state of career guidance in lower secondary schools. Although the work is focused on lower secondary schools, its outputs are also applicable to upper secondary schools.
Possibilities of Using Career Guidance and Counseling in Elementary School

This diploma thesis entitled "Possible Use of Career Counseling in Secondary school" focuses primarily on the possible way of introduction of career counseling into secondary schools that are within the czech standard eduacational system. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze both the possibilities of use and ways of realization of career counseling in secondary schools, which is now provided primarily within educational counseling. Aim of the thesis was, based on given research assumptions, to analyze opinions of both students and educational counselor on the level of services provided by the career counseling in secondary school. The first part of the thesis will discuss terms related to the area of career counseling and professional orientation of students. It will also analyze occupation selection theories and career development of students, aspects of counseling process, and it will also list knowledge about adolescence period. Following bachelor's thesis is devoted to methodological aspects of the career counseling. It deals with the terminological discussion of counseling-related concepts and its areas of application in the context of adult education. The thesis is focused on a counseling process, structure, tools and specifics in career counseling. It provides an analysis of wide range of counseling tools from basic counseling techniques to specific digital and complex means.
